Cabinet recognition of Ireland’s marine resource potential

Government commitment to develop Ireland’s marine resource was underpinned by the presence of An Taoiseach Enda Kenny and four cabinet colleagues at the first annual conference of Our Ocean Wealth – the integrated marine plan for Ireland last month.
“Today’s conference is a way of showing that the government is serious about the potential of this sector, and that we’ve decided to take real, strong, clear action,” remarked An Taoiseach Enda Kenny.

Endorsing these sentiments, marine minister Simon Coveney however noted Ireland’s poor historic recognition of this projected multi-billion euro resource:
“In my view it is really a source of some shame it has taken us until now to really drive and put together a focused and integrated marine strategy for Ireland.”

Bass fishing in Ireland

I am still challenged by bass on the fly – probably even more so now than ever.

Its not easy out there at the moment, in a much diminished fishery, a difficult method is always going to be at times more tasking. But……

But with a little bit of thought and planning some fishing is likely even if very much unexpected.

Some help can be found here from 2009 – Bigger Bass on the Fly

I am sorry about the confusion that exists at the moment in relation to PROBASSFISHER.

For the past 10 years or so I have owned the domain ‘www.probassfisher.com’ however through a process which I still dont understand this is no longer my property. The current owner of www.probassfisher.com has scraped and replicated the content off my site an posted a WordPress blog under this domain name.

As a result of this strange scenario I have had to purchase www.probassfisher.ie where my site now resides in its entirety. I haven’t made many posts recently until I have the time to sort this problem. All page rankings etc. have been lost.

I am using twitter under the address www.twitter.com/jimhendrick for updates and notes and www.twitter.com/Jimhendrick/media for recent photos and media

You can keep in touch there regularly.

I am also using Instagram for photos at the following http://instagram.com/thirtyards

Many thanks

To fish

Bass fishing Wexford

I know that much of my own pleasure in fishing is in the flowing ease of thought that comes upon me as I fish. This is compounded of many things; of companionship or solitude, of a rivers moods and changes, a birds flight, a fish’s leap, a lakes calm or stir. It grows from wind and weather and season, from theories built and tried, from endless curiosity and the constant expectancy that goes with fishing. It is made smoother and easier by the mechanical efficiency of sensible tackle and a moderate skill in casting and wading. It is broadened by a decent knowledge of the ways of water and fish and the creatures fish depend on, as well as by the whole frame of reference that is a mans mind.
