Experiences at the Platform
- I couldn’t tell left from right – even when my guide was blatantly demonstrating to me (pointing…!)
- It was impossible to stay calm when I saw a school of fish running 🔥 hot at the boat
- I developed total amnesia in respect of casting requirements
- A strange general inability to see anything that looked like a fish possessed me
- I increased my capacity to stand on any fly-line in my proximity
- The creation of tangles increased in frequency and indeed complexity directly in relation to the presence of fish
- The regular barracuda bit of my fly off when any permit waved its tail
- My guide told me my new €250 glasses were the wrong colour
